The Vancouver College of Counsellor Training (VCCT) Graduation Ceremony was a meaningful and powerful celebration of growth, resilience, and purpose. Graduates, joined by their families, peers, faculty, and community partners, gathered to honour the completion of an educational journey rooted in empathy, practice, and personal transformation.

VCCT’s graduation marked more than academic achievement—it recognized the emotional labour, self-reflection, and commitment required to pursue a career in counselling and mental health support. Many graduates navigated complex life experiences while completing their training, making this milestone a testament to their dedication to both professional excellence and human connection.

The ceremony began with a respectful Land Acknowledgement and cultural performance, honouring the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories on which the event took place. This moment grounded the celebration in reflection, respect, and community—values that align deeply with the counselling profession.

Graduates were inspired by thoughtful remarks from leadership and guest speakers, who emphasized the importance of ethical practice, lifelong learning, and compassion-driven careers. The valedictorian address captured the shared journey of the graduating class, reflecting on challenges overcome, lessons learned, and the responsibility that comes with supporting others in their most vulnerable moments.

Awards of Excellence were presented to recognize outstanding academic performance, highlighting the dedication and rigor demonstrated throughout the program. As each graduate crossed the stage to receive their diploma, the room echoed with pride, encouragement, and a shared belief in the impact these future counsellors will have within their communities.

The VCCT Graduation Ceremony concluded as a moment of transition—from training to practice, and from learning to service. It celebrated not only what graduates have achieved, but the meaningful work they are now prepared to do. For VCCT graduates, this day marked the beginning of a career dedicated to care, connection, and positive change.
